Which CMS are supported?

Native plugin for WordPress (5.0 and newer). For other CMS (TYPO3, Drupal, Webflow, Wix, custom), we provide a JavaScript snippet that does the same thing — drop it in your site's head, configure via our admin interface.

Which content formats can the bot ingest?

PDFs, Word documents, HTML pages (via URL crawl), Markdown, plain text. The ingestion pipeline extracts structure (headings, tables, lists) and preserves links back to the original source.

For dynamic content (product catalogues from a database, blog posts from RSS), we can set up scheduled re-ingestion.

Where is data hosted? What about GDPR?

OperoBot backend runs on IONOS Germany by default. Knowledge base storage is encrypted. Visitor questions are processed in the EU. Full Auftragsverarbeitungsvertrag (AVV) on request.

Three deployment models are supported: EU Cloud (SaaS) on IONOS, On-premises in your data center or private cloud, or your own cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP) where we manage OperoBot inside your existing hyperscaler tenant.

The AI model itself is the IONOS AI Model Hub — also EU-hosted, no data leaves the European jurisdiction.

How does the bot handle questions it can't answer?

If OperoBot's confidence is below a configurable threshold, it falls back to a polite "I don't have a confident answer" — optionally with a hand-off to a contact form, your help desk, or a human chat operator.

We track every "couldn't answer" event so you can spot content gaps in your knowledge base.

How is the knowledge base maintained?

For most customers we set up scheduled re-ingestion: every Sunday night, the bot re-crawls your defined sources and re-builds the embeddings. New product PDFs you drop in a folder are picked up automatically.

Manual updates and ad-hoc ingestion are also possible via the admin interface.

Will the bot match my brand design?

Yes — primary color, accent color, font, position (bottom-left, bottom-right, embedded), greeting text, avatar image, and the bot's name are all configurable. The chat bubble can also be styled with custom CSS for full design control.

What does it cost?

OperoBot is sized per knowledge-base volume and expected query volume. Standalone customers get a custom proposal — for most B2B sites, that's a low monthly fee plus a one-time setup. Get in touch for a quote.
